Translation, 2 Kings 14
In the second year to Yo’ash son of Yo’achaz king of Yisrael Reigned-as-king ‘Amatzyahu son of Yo’ash king of Yehudah. A son of twenty-five years he was in his reigning-as-king And twenty-nine years he reigned-as-king in Yrushalaim. Now the name of his mother Yeho’adayn from Yerushalaim. And he did the upright-thing in the eyes of Yahweh, only not as David his father according to what Yo’ash his father did he did. Only the high places he did not turn aside. Still the people sacrificing and turning-to-smoke on the high places. And it was just as the kingdom was strengthened in his hand he struck his servants who had caused-to-die the king his father. Now the sons of the ones who caused-to-die he did not cause to die, According to the writings in the scroll of the Torah of Mosheh which Yahweh commanded, saying,
“You shall not cause-to-die the father over sons how the sons you shall not cause-to-die over the fathers. except a man in his sin he shall not die.”
He himself struck ‘Edom in the valley of the salt, 10,000 And he took the Crag in battle And he called her name Yaqte’el until this day.
Then sent ‘Amatz’yah messengers/angels to Yeho’ash son of Yeho’achaz son of Yehu’ king of Yisrael, saying, “Walk/come let us see faces.” And sent Yeho’ash king of Yisrael to ‘Amatzyahu king of Yehudah, saying, “The thorn which [is] in Levanon sent to the cedar which [is] in Levanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son for a wife.’ And passed-over a living-beast of the field which [is] in Levanon And she trampled the thorn. Striking you struck ‘Edom And it lifted you your heart. Be glorified and sit in your house. But for what provoke-you evil (or a friend). And you fall, you and Yehudah with you.”
And listened not ‘Amatzyahu And ascended Yeho’ash king of Yisrael And they saw-themselves faces, he and ‘Amatzyahu king of Yehudah, in the House of the Sun which is to Yehudah. And plagued was Yehudah before the face of Yisrael And they fled, each to his tent. Now ‘Amatzyahu king of Yehudah son of Yeho’ash son of ‘Aachazyahu Yeho’ash king of Yisrael seized in House of the Sun. And he entered Yerushalaim And he breached the walls of Yerushalaim In the Gate of ‘Ephraeim until the gate of the Corner four hundred cubits. And he took all the gold and the silver And all the utensils which were being found in the house of Yahweh and in the treasures of the house of the king. even the sons of pledged-ones. And he returned to Shomron.
Now the remainder of the words/deeds of Yeho’ash which he did And his mighty-deeds And which he fought with ‘Amatzyahu king of Yehudah Are they themselves not writing on the scroll of the words/deeds of the days to the kings of Yisrael. And slept Yeho’ash with his fathers And he was buried in Shomron with the kings of Yisrael And reigned-as-king Yarav’am his son in his place.
And lived ‘Amatzyahu son of Yo’ash king of Yehudah after the death of Yeho’ash son of Yeho’achaz king of Yisrael fifteen years. Now the remnant of the words/deeds of ‘Amatzyahu, Are they themselves not writings on the scroll of the words/deeds of the days to the kings of Yehudah? And the conspired against him a conspiracy in Yrushalaim And he fled to Lakiysh And they sent after him to Lakiysh And they caused-him-to-die there. And they lifted him on horses And he was buried in Yrushalaim with his fathers in the city of David. And all the people of Yehudah took ‘Azaryah - Now he himself a son of sixteen years - And they caused him to reign-as-king in the place of his father ‘Amatzyahu. He himself built ‘Eylat and caused-it-to-return to Yehudah After slept the king with his fathers.
In the fifteenth year to ‘Amatzyahu son of Yo’ash king of Yehudah Reigned-as-king Yarav’am son of Yo’ash king of Yisrael in Shomron forty-one years. And he did the evil in the eyes of Yahweh He did not turn aside from the sins of Yarav’am son of Nevat who caused-Israel-to-sin. He himself caused-to-return the border of Israel from to entering of Chamat until the sea of the ‘Aravah According to the word of Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael which he spoke by the hand of his servant Yonah son of ‘Amittay the prophet who was from Gat Chafer.
For saw Yahweh the oppression of Israel, very bitter, and ending of restraint and ending of forsaken there was no helper to Yisrael. But Yahweh did not speak to beneath the name of Yisrael from under the heavens But He caused-to-save by the hand of Yarav’am son of Yo’ash. Not the remnant of the words/deeds of Yarav’am and all which he did And his mighty-deeds which he fought And which he caused-to-return Dammeseq and Chamat to Yehudah in Yisrael, Are they themselves not writings on the scroll of the words/deeds of the days to the kings of Yisrael. And slept Yarav’am with his fathers, with the kings of Yisrael. And reigned-as-king Zekaryah his son in his place.
